RELAUNCH FOR CLWB WITH NEW STAFF AND RENOVATIONS
www.clwb.net Cardiff's Clwb Ifor Bach re-opened its doors this autumn after a personnel reshuffle and major renovations to the club after more than 20 years of live music and club nights.
The renovations coincide with the appointment of two new Entertainment Managers, Richard 'Chill' Hawkins and Dai Lloyd. Hawkins previously held the post of Clwb's in-house sound engineer and tour manager and soundman for the likes of Mclusky and Jarcrew, as well as working as production manager for Community Music Wales and co-founding Cardiff's annual Compass Point Festival. Lloyd meanwhile is the head of the critically-lauded Dockrad record label and is heading the Clwb's Welsh-language events. The renovations to the club include a refitted ground floor, so the three-story venue can host two live music events simultaneously. Richard explained some of the changes to Sound Nation.
"Having the ground floor available for live bands means that we will be able to fit a lot more touring and local bands that we would otherwise not have had room for. The refit on the ground floor means that we can have two gigs at the same time, ensuring our continuation as South-Wales' best live music venue."
